Christina Aguilera Performing On The People’s Choice Awards

What a classy performance. Candles lit everywhere, piano and her voice. Xtina performed “Blank Page” on tonight’s People Choice Awards and homegirl brought it home. The performance is a step in the right direction for her latest album “Lotus” and though the album isn’t selling as well as her label and her fans would have hoped, there is still time to save it. Performances like these and NOT performances like the one she performed on The Voice, looking like a cotton-candy head, is what is going to help Lady X.

Vocally, Xtina was a bit shaky on the softer, tender moments. I remember when she would sing with such confidence and ease, but hey, she still has most of it. But, girl, do something with your hair. Put it in a nice pony, bun or damn, even braid it. Those side bangs looking all greasy and cheap kinda made me gag.

We Now Have A Name For Who Is Responsible For Nicki Minaj’s Bad Hair

Terrance, do you hate Nicki? That’s the only explanation for you making her look like she’s just kidding even when she’s not. Nicki’s wig line is a joke. You can see it with your eyes closed. Not only that, but last night at the AMA’s, Nicole’s wigs looked like she bought them the day after Halloween, on sale, half off, buy one get one, clearance section.

Nicole boasts about how much money she makes and I’m sure she makes more than I do, but when I go out in public, I make sure I don’t look like  I’m just kidding.

Terrance, keep doing what you’re doing so I have more to write about.

Kelly Clarkson Greatest Hits Medley At The American Music Awards

Kelly graced us with a phenomenal performance at last night’s American Music Awards. Starting off performing in front of three judges seated in front of her, a la American Idol, Kelly belted “Miss Independent,” then melted into “Since U Been Gone,” “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You),” then finishing off with her latest hit “Catch My Breath.”

KeLEGEND is an assassin with her monster vocals. Yeah, she can belt, but she can also hit that soft spot in all of us when she sings softly and uses her natural tone. I can go on and on about how much I love Kelly as an artist. Sure, her music is safe, but it makes good for a road trip or karaoke night because come on, who doesn’t know the lyrics to at least one Kelly Clarkson hit?

Ke$ha “Die Young” American Music Awards

Ke$ha is a fun songwriter, great studio artist and is good in most of her music videos, but when it comes to live performances I can’t stand to listen or watch. Last night, our little dollar sign tried way too hard to steal the show with a cool laser light show, shaky vocals and weirdo dancing. I could hear her counting the steps in her head, it was louder than the song. I especially liked the breakdown and dance number where she jumped up and down then proceeded to bang on the drums like it was some big event. No, I didn’t like it if you really think I did.

Christina Aguilera Performs “Lotus/Army Of Me/Let There Be Love” On The American Music Awards

Okay, let’s talk about Christina Aguilera’s performance medley on the American Music Awards. I feel like she’s lost. I don’t know what it is. Is her label just not allowing her to promote as much as she should? Is she rebelling against her label by not promoting and gaining weight? Don’t you dare say that she’s not a big girl. Xtina is a pop star, part of her job is to look flawless, make the public jealous and give us insecurities about our bodies.

So, about the performance, it just was a mess. Tina’s outfit was horrendous, it did her no favors. She totally lipped the “Lotus Intro” and her vocals were pretty shotty.  Her forgettable performance can be seen below.

I remember the days when Christina Aguilera was announced as a performer on an awards show and it was a big deal. I remember thinking, “that’s a guaranteed good performance.” Now, I tune in hoping that she kills it, but I know that she is going to give an embarrassing performance. Sad days.

Pink “Try” Live on the American Music Awards

Rosa, that’s what I call Pink because we’re “like this,” carried the American Music Awards with her live rendition of “Try.”  Rosa gave So You Think You Can Dance realness with her contemporary dance performance. I loved it, Rosa showing these lessor pop tarts what its like to sing live and give a rousing performance. Am I throwing shade? Definitely. I am not Pink STAN by any means, I just love a good performance and appreciate when an artist is artistic.
